  • What is liposomal technology?

    A liposome is a microscopic sphere composed of phospholipids—the same fat-like molecules that form the membrane of every cell in the human body. When these phospholipids are dispersed in water under the right conditions, they spontaneously fold into a bilayer and enclose an aqueous core. Nutrients dissolved within that core are physically encapsulated by the phospholipid shell.

  • When does the encapsulation take place?

    In a liposomal formulation, the nutrient is encapsulated in a phospholipid vesicle during production — even before ingestion. Liposomal technology is a delivery format — a way to package a nutrient — and not a change to the nutrient itself. The particle size and stability of the vesicles are controlled during production using techniques such as microfluidization or high-pressure homogenization.

The role: Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is a fat-soluble vitamin that supports the immune system, contributes to the maintenance of strong bones, and is important for calcium and phosphorus absorption.

Why we use it: We choose vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) from a vegan source. Each sachet contains 25 µg (1,000 IU), or 500% of the reference intake, in a liposomal formula.

Vitamin K2 (MK-7)

The role: Vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7) is a fat-soluble vitamin that contributes to blood clotting and the maintenance of strong bones.

Why we use it: We use vitamin K2 in the form of menaquinone-7 (MK-7). Each sachet contains 90 µg (120% RI), combined with vitamin D3 in a single liposomal formula.

Precautions: Do not use in combination with coumarin derivatives, such as acenocoumarol and phenprocoumon, due to interactions.
